Choosing a Floor Scale

• Platform size: choose a platform larger than your pallets, drums, or carts, so the load sits fully on the deck.
• Capacity: include your heaviest load plus any pallet jack or cart wheeled onto the scale.
• Material: mild steel suits dry indoor use. Hot-dip galvanized steel resists rust outdoors and in damp areas, and stainless steel handles washdown and corrosive environments. Check each product’s IP rating.
• Installation: surface-mounted scales need a ramp for wheeled loads. A pit frame sets the deck flush with the floor, so carts roll straight on.
• Legal for trade: if you sell or ship by weight, choose an NTEP– or OIML–approved model. Check each product page for approvals.
