Load Cells and Force Sensors

Load cells are the sensors at the heart of every weighing and force measurement system. They convert force into a small electrical signal that, once amplified, an indicator or data acquisition system turns into a readable weight or force value. Tacuna Systems carries commercial-grade, high-accuracy strain gauge load cells and force sensors from Tacuna Systems, ANYLOAD, and AmCells, from gram-level miniature sensors to high-capacity models for truck scales and silos.

Shop Load Cells by Type

  • S-Type: measure tension or compression in line with the load. Common in hanging scales, hoppers, and test stands.
  • Single Point: support an entire platform with one load cell, maintaining accuracy for off-center loads. Used in bench, retail, and checkweighing scales.
  • Single-Ended Shear Beam: mounted at one end, these sensors are the workhorse of floor scales, platforms, and tank weighing.
  • Double-Ended Shear Beam: supported at both ends and loaded in the middle, for truck scales, livestock scales, and large tanks.
  • Compression and Canister: high-capacity load cells for silos, tanks, presses, and heavy structures.
  • Planar Beam: a low profile for compact scales and devices where height is limited.
  • Miniature and Load Button: small sensors for tight spaces, test fixtures, and product development.
  • Tension Link: monitor loads on cranes, hoists, and rigging.
  • Load Pin: replace an existing pin or shaft to measure force inside a clevis, sheave, or shackle.
  • Wire Rope: measure cable tension without cutting into the line.
  • Multi-Axis: measure force in more than one direction at once, for robotics and research.
  • Torque Transducers: measure rotational force on motors, shafts, and test rigs.
  • Load Cell Kits: matched load cells, mounts, junction boxes, and wiring to simplify ordering for a complete system.
