Load Cell Cables and Connectors
A load cell cable carries excitation voltage to the load cell and returns its signal to the indicator, amplifier, or data acquisition system. Tacuna Systems carries replacement and extension load cell cables, connectors, splicing kits, and cable protection from ANYLOAD, AmCells, and REMO.
Choosing a Load Cell Cable
Most load cells use a 4-wire or 6-wire cable. A 6-wire cable adds two sense lines that let the instrument compensate for resistance changes in the cable, making it ideal for long cable runs or environments with wide temperature swings. For more detail, see External Wiring in Strain Gauge Load Cells.
In harsh environments, cable armor and rodent-resistant cable protect against crushing, abrasion, and chewing damage. Splicing kits and connectors make it easier to join cables or disconnect a load cell for service.
When replacing or extending a cable, match the wire count and color code to your load cell and instrument. To eliminate the cable run altogether, see our wireless load cell systems.
