Single Point
Single point load cells support an entire weighing platform on one sensor. Their design compensates for off-center loads, giving accurate scale readings when the platform stays within the size given in the cell spec sheet. We carry ANYLOAD models in aluminum, alloy steel, and stainless steel.
Single Point Load Cell Uses
Since only one cell does the weighing, these devices eliminate the need for summing junctions and the resulting trimming. That makes single point designs a natural fit for bench and retail scales, checkweighers, filling and packaging machines, medical scales, and on-board weighing systems.
Choosing a Single Point Load Cell
- Platform size: each model is rated for a maximum platform size. Off-center accuracy holds only within that area.
- Capacity: include the weight of the platform, then add a margin for impact from drop loading.
- Material and sealing: aluminum is lightweight and cost-effective for dry environments. Stainless steel models with higher IP ratings suit washdown areas such as food processing. Check each product’s rating.
- Certification: if the scale is for trade, choose an NTEP– or OIML–approved model.
The datasheet on each product page gives these specifications (see our guide on how to read a load cell datasheet for a review). To compare single point designs with other styles, read Choosing the Right Load Cell for Your Job. Need a thinner profile? See our planar beam load cells.
