Multi-Axis
Multi-axis load cells measure force along the X, Y, and Z axes (Fx, Fy, Fz) simultaneously, enabling a single sensor to capture both the magnitude and the direction of a load. Also called 3-axis or triaxial load cells, they’re used in robotics, machine-tool instrumentation, materials and tribology testing, test benches, and research — anywhere side, shear, and normal loads occur together. A common setup mounts the cell at a robot’s end effector to measure reaction forces on the arm or gripper directly.
Tacuna Systems offers two exclusive 3-axis lines: the TSMA110 (100–1000 N, aluminum) for precision lower-capacity work, and the TSMA220 (2000 N and 5000 N, IP65 aluminum) for higher-capacity test benches and machine-tool setups. Each load cell component produces an independent output, requiring one EMBSGB200 amplifier per axis.
